Our Graphic Design Portfolio teacher told us in an email to have a paragraph ready with our presentation today expressing our intentions as a designer. I felt like this was going to be like an artist statement during critics when we read it aloud to the class. My teacher never mentioned the paragraph to anyone during our presentation which was good for most of my fellow classmates as they had let it off the radar, focusing on the portfolio projects instead. I, however, had mine ready but never got the opportunity to share it. I wanted to express it in some way, so here you go:
"We all have many intentions that we seek out in the world. I personally recall never being sure what or where exactly I was going as a young college student. However, after years of pursuing my Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design I have come to realize my intentions overall as a fellow creative. I wish to leave a mark behind for people. I want to create, awe, and inspire those around me as well as be inspired by them. I want to have my hand in any creative outlet I am willing to try; photography, writing, drawing, videos, designs, applications, music, and perhaps even architecture. I wish to create, for not only do I feel that it is my intention as designer, but my purpose as a creative."
G’night everyone, I’m going to go pass out.
